Strengthened for the Journey Ahead: Spring Mid-Convocation Opening Worship Experience

Today was filled with fellowship, leadership development, ministry collaboration, and spiritual empowerment as attendees gathered for the 2026 Spring Mid-Convocation. The afternoon was dedicated to impactful component meetings that strengthened unity and encouraged continued service throughout the church. The Women in Ministry Fellowship, Stewardesses Meeting, MSWAWO + PKs Meeting, Women’s Missionary Society Meeting, Sons of Allen Meeting, and Lay Organization Meeting each provided opportunities for encouragement, vision, leadership, and fellowship among the various ministries and auxiliaries. Throughout the day, attendees also shared moments of connection and reflection during lunch and dinner on their own, helping to foster relationships and meaningful conversation across generations and areas of ministry.
This evening marked the powerful opening worship experience of the 2026 Spring Mid-Convocation, setting the tone for what promises to be a meaningful and spirit-filled gathering. As the service began, the choir blessed the congregation in song, ushering the people into an atmosphere of praise, celebration, and expectation. The congregation then united in a stirring Call to Action Litany declaring, “For Such a Time as This,” reminding everyone that God has strategically positioned His people to rise in faith, courage, and purpose during this season.
The preached Word was delivered by Rev. Dr. Challis Bradford from Book of Esther 4:14 in a dynamic and thought-provoking message entitled, “God Has a Better and Brighter Purpose for You.” Through the life of Esther, the congregation was reminded of the courage it takes to use one’s voice on behalf of others and to step boldly into God’s divine assignment, even in the face of uncertainty and fear. Esther’s willingness to risk comfort and safety for the sake of her people became a powerful example of faith, obedience, and purpose.
Rev. Dr. Bradford also painted a vivid picture of the life of a seed once it is planted and covered by dirt. She reminded the congregation that although the seed is buried in darkness and hidden beneath the soil, it is not dying—it is developing. What appears to be burial is often preparation for breakthrough and growth. Through pressure, isolation, and difficult seasons, God is still at work producing purpose, strength, and new life. The message encouraged believers not to lose heart while in the process, but to trust that God is preparing them for greater impact and brighter purpose.
The service concluded in a powerful and unforgettable moment as the altar flooded with preachers, pastors, leaders, and evangelists seeking prayer and fresh strength for the journey ahead. Voices were lifted, tears were shed, and hearts were renewed as prayer covered those called to lead and serve God’s people. It was a moving display of unity, surrender, and spiritual empowerment as leaders stood together believing God for renewed vision, courage, endurance, and anointing for such a time as this. The opening night of the 2026 Spring Mid-Convocation closed with hearts encouraged, spirits revived, and the people leaving with a deeper sense of purpose and expectation for what God will continue to do throughout the convocation.
